In het oeuvre van Michaël Aerts blijkt een grote interesse voor de complexiteit van waarneming, ervaring en beschouwing. Hij verbindt zijn zin voor analyse en reflectie met vormen, vlakken en kleuren in twee- en driedimensionale werken. Hij maakt objecten, sculpturen, installaties, tekeningen en schilderijen waarbij thema’s als tijd en ruimte, verbonden worden met zijn drang om te begrijpen. In deze tentoonstelling richt hij zich vooral op het bevragen van wat buiten het bereik van het zichtbare ligt, hoe een integraal beeld zich kan vormen en hoe die ervaring bereikt kan worden: the possibility of the simultaneous.
Michaël Aerts' oeuvre reveals a profound interest in the complexity of perception, experience, and contemplation. He connects naturally his sense of reflection and analysis with forms, shapes, and colours in two- and three-dimensional works. He creates objects, sculptures, installations, drawings, and paintings, in which themes such as time and space are intertwined with his urge to understand. In this exhibition, he focuses mainly on questioning what lies beyond the reach of the visible, how an integral image can be formed, and how that experience can be achieved: the possibility of the simultaneous.
